I'm a data scientist who has been working with social network analysis, entity-oriented search, music recommendation, machine learning and data visualization. I love working with data and developing for the web.
The goal of the "ANT" project is, on one side, to provide a search engine for the University of Porto and, on the other side, to support the research and teaching of information retrieval, in particular entity-oriented search.
You can try it directly here:
Army ANT is a part of the "ANT" project. It aims at providing a workbench for innovation in entity-oriented search, consisting of an environment for developing, exploring, understanding, analyzing and evaluating search engines.
The goal of the "Breadcrumbs" project was to capitalize on the participation of the general public in the production of news by creating bridges between online news and the "Social Web".
Project "Juggle" aimed to explore the areas of music information retrieval and recommendation with large-scale datasets. By combining content, context and collaborative information, the hybrid recommender system was able to to generate compelling playlists based on the user's input tracks.
"Juggle Mobile" expanded on the ideas introduced by the "Juggle" project and aimed at delivering an artist-based experience to mobile devices, using both individual and group-based discovery of artists through their biographies.
